Family Tree

The genealogy represented in this report has been compiled over the last 22 years through original research, online collaboration, and most of all oral histories. As with all family histories, not all the facts can be 100% verified and where there have been conflicting details I've included them as alternate facts. Furthermore, some of the facts are interesting, some boring, and others quite salacious; in the interest of capturing historical accuracy, I've included it all.

Lastly a big thanks to the matriarchs and patriarchs of the family. These included both sets of grandparents on both Karen and my side as well as some notable uncles and cousins: Alton Brody, Bernard Garfinkle, and Emory Farkas who I had the pleasure of video recording their histories prior to transcribing them here.

The entire genealogy of the Cohen and Farkas families has been compiled into several books that can be viewed both online and offline. To see the online version with interactive trees and pictures go to FamilySearch.org (you'll need to create a free account) and go to: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/GWKL-586. Alternatively, you can download one of the three genealogy books in PDF form and either view in your browser or print. There is one “grand-daddy” book that includes all branches. There are two other books that split the family by Jeffrey’s (Cohen-Linenberg) and Karen’s (Farkas-Schwartz) branches. To download them, simply click on one of the links below:

Below are video archives of significant figures in the Cohen and Farkas families telling their stories of the family history.

Although a significant amount of work has gone into creating the genealogy of our family tree with over 700+ individuals logged, it is a continual work in progress. If you have any additional information to add to the tree, please contact us with the pertinent information.
